Description
Wide / White is a site specific spatial intervention made for de Electriciteitsfabriek. Wide / White is an ‘observation machine’, a way to look at the architecture of the old electricity plant as a landscape. The installation draws the largest possible circle in the space. Crosses the space and escapes obstacles along the way, such as the steel columns, balustrades and vides.
In art history, the panorama is a way to imitate or simulate the experience of landscape.The audience enters, as it were, into an undefined film set.
Wide/White is commissioned by Satellietgroep and is part of a exhibition called Climate as Artefact.
